Clinical Scientist

Scope of the Job

The Clinical Scientist may be involved in all aspects of the early development of clinical trials and translational studies. You will support the EORTC Disease Orientated Groups with their clinical pipeline and research programs and provide information on any aspect of new clinical proposals be it drug candidates, biomarkers, potential collaborators or translational research aspects.

Main responsibilities / Major Activities

  • Provide coordination and operational support for any aspect of new clinical study development including being the point of contact with external partners
  • Provide scientific and methodological input in new project proposals
  • Drive and coordinate the involvement of external committees, groups experts and Headquarters (HQ) based teams to guarantee superior quality of projects
  • Initiate and develop relationships with industrial partners both collaboration on individual studies and to support longer-term partnership opportunities


  • Relevant clinical or biomedical Ph.D or MD and 3 year of relevant experience or MSc/MRes, pharmacy degree and 4 years of relevant experience or BSc or equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience can be any research role in clinical trials or drug development in academic, hospital or industry setting
  • At least 3 years’ experience leading to a degree of specialist knowledge of the medical and scientific activities related to oncology
  • Credibility in scientific environments
  • R&D drug development experience is an advantage
