Fellow in Quality of Life

EORTC promotes multidisciplinary cancer research in Europe. EORTC research is conducted in over 300 university hospitals in 32 countries. Its network of investigators comprises more than 2500 scientists and clinicians collaborating in 20 multidisciplinary groups.

The EORTC offers a one-year research fellowship (renewable to a maximum of 2 years subject to funding) to learn about patient-reported outcomes and quality of life in cancer clinical studies by participating in the activities of the Quality of Life department and being immersed in the activities of an international academic research organization. This fellowship will be dedicated to research on Setting International Standards in the Analysis of Patient Reported Outcomes and Quality Of Life Endpoints Data in Cancer Clinical Trials (SISAQOL).


  • A PhD in Quantitative Social Sciences, Outcomes Research or equivalent degree with excellent statistical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with patient-reported outcomes and quality of life is an asset
  • Ability to work independently, under supervision of a quality of life department staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Have an interest in research methodology and good research practices in patient-reported outcomes and quality of life research
  • Motivated and has a strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to write peer-reviewed articles and grants, and to present in scientific conferences
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment
  • Be under 35 years old

Support to the fellow is provided by a multidisciplinary staff including medical doctors and biostatisticians. The fellowship will take place at the EORTC Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Please send a curriculum vitae, a letter of intent and two letters of recommendation to:
