5th Breast Gynecological International Cancer Society (BGICC)

Worldwide, the rates of breast and gynecological cancers have increased, but these diseases should not be seen as death sentences. The Breast – Gynecological International Cancer Society (BGICS) bears a deep sense of responsibility towards improving treatments for these diseases and will host the 5th Breast – Gynecological International Cancer Conference from 17– 18 January 2013 in Cairo, Egypt.

This conference will provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge on breast and gynecological cancers, outline the current status of the problems, and discuss recent trends and initiatives for treatment.

The 5th Breast – Gynecological International Cancer Conference is organized by the Breast – Gynecological International Cancer Society (BGICS), a non-profit society promoting optimal standards of care for patients with breast and gynecological cancers.

This conference is organized under the auspices of the EORTC. David Cameron, Professor of Oncology at Edinburgh University, Emiel Rutgers of The Netherlands Cancer Institute – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital in Amsterdam, Helen Westenberg of Arnhem’s Radiotherapy Institute, and Carlo Messina, Clinical Research Physician at EORTC Headquarters will discuss the EORTC Breast Cancer Group’s clinical research and scientific strategy in this joint EORTC and BGICS session. Dr. Cameron is the Chair, Dr. Rutgers is the Treasurer, and Dr. Westenberg serves on the Steering Committee of the EORTC Breast Cancer Group.
