13th International Gastric Cancer Congress
Research on gastric cancer is developing fast. New insights into tumor biology and progress in health care delivery allow for more precise diagnostics, more efficacious treatment and better quality of care. This is more than one reason to profit from this most important and biggest scientific meeting on the topic of gastric cancer worldwide, bringing together delegates from many disciplines, reaching from basic researchers, clinical scientists and physicians from all disciplines and other health care professionals.

5th EORTC Quality of Life
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 5th EORTC Quality of Life and Cancer Clinical Trial Conference in 2019. This event will give participants the opportunity to learn about the latest topics in quality of life (QOL) and patient reported outcome research. The two-day meeting aims to bring together over 30 of the world’s most influential QOL and clinical trial designers. There will be presentations on current state-of –the-art methods for trial design and measurement in international cancer clinical trials, addressing a variety of topics from designing robust measures, to understanding their clinical meaning; discussions on new emerging international tools, which have the potential to become important symptom outcome measures and the rapidly growing field of electronic patient assessments.
This event is meant to stimulate progress and ensure greater patient involvement in cancer clinical trials, hence, patients and patient advocates will be speaking and providing their unique vision on QOL. All academic attendees will be able to participate for free, and a number travel grants are also available (see website for details as from April 2018). Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors, including the EORTC Quality of Life Group, for supporting this meeting.
We are all looking forward to welcoming you to our meeting and participating in an engaging exchange of ideas.

Clinical Trial Statistics for Non Statisticians
Develop the statistical knowledge required to better understand today’s cancer clinical trials!
Today, statistics are foundational to understand clinical trials. This EORTC course provides an introduction to the statistical methods used for the design, conduct and analysis of cancer clinical trials. It will insist on the philosophy and provide a deep understanding of the statistical principles whilst avoiding too technical formulations. With this course, the attendees will be better equipped to design their own clinical research, work in a multidisciplinary team involving statisticians and to critically appraise the scientific value of published research.
This course is aimed at non-statisticians who work in clinical research or at statisticians with little or no experience in clinical trials. For those attendees, who do not have any basic training in general statistics, an optional half day introduction course to statistics and probability (incl. notions of experiment, random variable, distributions, estimations, hypothesis testing) is organized before the official start of the course.
