Instructions for submitting a protocol outline to the PRC
1. Fill in the electronic form
When you fill-in the form pay attention to these points.
- Don’t use text formatting
Data submitted on the web form cannot be formatted with tabulations, multiple
spaces to align text, bold or italic fonts.
- Don’t use special characters
Text should not contain any non standard characters like Greek letters,
mathematical symbols, etc
- Don’t comment numbers
Question with numbers need to be answered with numbers only.
E.g.: “Number of centres: not more than 100” will be refused. If you need
to express some extra comment do in the “comments” box at the end of the outline.
- Don’t try to print your input
Printing this page will not give good results. Only a part of the text
will be visible. A better output can be accessible at the end of the procedure.
2. Push the save button
- Be patient, wait for server confirmation
A protocol outline can sometime be a bit heavy to transfer on the web.
Depending on your Internet connection and on the traffic at this time, this
process can take 1 or 2 minutes. Don’t close your program until you get a
confirmation from the server.
3. Review, print or update the outline
Print
If you need to keep a printed output of the outline use the option “Display
an outline” on the main menu of the PRC web page. Use the password you received
to open this page and use the File / Print function of your browser.
- An outline identification number is not a protocol number
The number you have to use to identify the outline you want to print is
not the number of your protocol, but the number you received when submitting
the outline. The PRC will attribute an EORTC number to your protocol. This
number as well as a copy of the outline formatted in a “word document” will
be provided by e-mail to the study coordinator, the Group chairman and the
statistician of the Group.
- Password not accepted
If you have a problem with the password you received, please contact the
PRC office who will help you with that
issue.
