Young Breast Cancer Group

The Young Breast Cancer Group (BCG) is an initiative for young clinical investigators, translational researchers and basic scientists to get to know other young professionals, build a network, and discuss research projects and clinical trial proposals. The ultimate goal is to create strong collaborations between young investigators and to turn the discussed ideas into real EORTC trials, with the support of senior BCG members.

Twice a year, during the biannual EORTC BCG meeting, we organize a separate session for young investigators (Young Investigator Meeting). In this informal supportive environment, project or trial ideas will be presented by some of the participants and these will be discussed within the Young BCG. Presenting a research proposal is strongly encouraged, though not mandatory. The young investigators with the most promising projects, as selected by the participants of the meeting, are given the opportunity to present their ideas during the main BCG meeting.

Additionally we organize informal gatherings (dinner & drinks) at the important meetings and events such as SABCS, ECCO-ESMO, ASCO, St Gallen etc. to keep in touch.

All these events are announced on our LinkedIn page and via our mailing list.

Is Young BCG something for me?

We are always looking for new members. Investigators who are young at heart, passionate about research, and look for a creative environment and strong network to develop their career are more than welcome.

How can I participate?

Send us an email (young.bcg@eortc.be) in which you introduce yourself and specify your research interests. We would also like to know how you found out about this initiative. As a member, you will have the opportunity to receive regular invitations for our meetings via our mailing list or our LinkedIn page.
