- The aims of the EORTC Cancer in the Elderly Task Force (ETF) are inspired by the global EORTC strategy. The ETF wants to develop, conduct, coordinate, and stimulate research on elderly patients with cancer.
- For this purpose the ETF designs elderly specific clinical studies in collaboration with the EORTC disease oriented groups.
- The ETF also wants to stimulate elderly patient evaluation in general EORTC studies and the use of uniform tools to describe and evaluate the elderly patients in clinical studies.
- The ETF will stimulate translational research in the field of geriatric oncology.
