Join us at the EIBIR/EORTC Joint Workshop during ECR 2013

EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer) and EIBIR (European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research) will host a workshop during ECR 2013 in Vienna. The workshop, “A radiologist with a ruler in his hand is a dangerous person: seeking standardization in multicenter imaging trials”, will be held Friday, 8 March from 08:30–10:00 in Room N/O.

This joint EIBIR/EORTC workshop aims to seek standardization of imaging biomarkers in multicenter cancer clinical trials, demonstrate examples of imaging implementation in optimized study design, and explore future collaboration between the EORTC and EIBIR. Dr Yan Liu, head of the Translational Research, Radiotherapy, and Imaging Department at EORTC Headquarters and Dr. Peter Brader of the Medical University Vienna will moderate the workshop.

• Dr. Nandita deSouza, Sutton, United Kingdom, Setting up clinical trials with functional imaging endpoints: trials and tribulations;
• Dr. Bernard van Beers, Clichy, France, Challenges, problems on key imaging techniques;
• Dr. Marion Smits, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, Advanced MR neuroimaging in multicenter trials: experience from the EORTC Brain Tumor Group;
• Dr. Ursula Nestle, Freiburg, Germany, Presentation of LUNG study: from the beginning until today.
