Joint ESP-EORTC symposium on SPECTA platforms at ECP 2014

A joint European Society of Pathology (ESP) – EORTC session on SPECTA, Screening Patients for Efficient Clinical Trial Access, platforms will be held from 14:30 to 16:30 on Monday, 01 September 2014 in ICC Capital Suite Room 9/1 during the 26th European Congress of Pathology (ECP 2014) in the ExCeL Centre in London, United Kingdom.

The session will be chaired by Dr. Fredrik Bosman, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois – Lausanne, Switzerland, and Dr. Arnaud Roth, Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève, Switzerland, and Chair of the EORTC Gastrointestinal Tract Cancer Group.

Invited Speakers include:

  • Dr. Sabine Tejpar, U.Z. Leuven – Campus Gasthuisberg in Leuven, Belgium, Chair of the EORTC Translational Research Advisory Committee, and member of the EORTC Board will present “Oncologists need pathologists, even more so in the 21st century.”
  • Dr. Daniela Aust, Universitaetsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus, Dresden, Germany, and member of the EORTC Gastrointestinal Tract Cancer Group will present “How does a reference Pathology center function in SPECTA?”
  • Dr. Ultan McDermott, leading scientist at Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, United Kingdom, will present “Next generation sequencing of routinely collected FFPE tissues: dream or nightmare?”
  • Anastassia Negrouk, Head of EORTC Headquarters International Regulatory Affairs Office in Brussels, Belgium, will present “Tissue transfer in a European context: what’s the legal framework?”
