The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) is looking for a dynamic and motivated Event Sponsorship and Exhibition Officer to join our team. Reporting to EORTC’s Head of Communications and working under the supervision of the Events Manager, the Event Sponsorship and Exhibition Officer oversees all aspects of business development and implementation related to EORTC events.
This hands-on full time role requires strong interpersonal/networking skills, attention to detail, ability to self-manage, with a positive, can-do attitude. You will bring outstanding communication and customer service skills to build strong relationships with our partners. There will be international travel involved, with flexible working hours at times.

Main responsibilities / Major Activities
- Sponsor relationship management: build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, updating a database of Industry contacts;
- Contract negotiation: negotiate sponsorship and exhibition contracts and draft sponsorship agreements as required, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that maximise value for both EORTC and its partners;
- Compliance: monitor applicable Industry codes of conduct on global and local (event host country) levels, and ensure proposed sponsorship packages conform with these codes at all times;
- Marketing and promotion: collaborate with the Communications team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that highlight sponsorship and exhibition opportunities.
- Grant management: conduct grant applications to receive funding for EORTC events;
- Exhibition coordination: oversee all aspects of exhibition logistics, including space allocation, booth setup, and breakdown, for a seamless exhibitor experience;
- Performance monitoring: monitor and analyse the performance of sponsorship and exhibition activities, with regular reports and insights;
- Budget management: manage budgets related to sponsorship and exhibition activities, to monitor financial targets;
- Innovation and improvement: continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve sponsorship and exhibition offerings, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices;
- Networking: attend EORTC and non-EORTC events in person – with the aim of meeting with (potential) Industry contacts- an average of 5 travels per year within Europe, and exceptionally outside. Support with manning the EORTC exhibition stand occasionally needed.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field;
- Minimum 3 years of proven track record in business development and/or event sponsorship and exhibition management;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities;
- Experience in a scientific environment is desirable;
Experience in working for a professional association or within the healthcare industry is an asset.
