Fellowship in Biostatistics (2025-2026)

EORTC promotes multidisciplinary cancer research across Europe. EORTC research is conducted in over 928 institutions across 36 countries. Its network of investigators comprises more than 5,300 scientists and clinicians collaborating in 18 active groups and task forces. EORTC works closely with patients through all phases, from cancer diagnosis and treatment to their psychosocial experience following cancer.

EORTC offers a one-year research fellowship (renewable for up to a maximum of 3 years) to learn the methodology of cancer clinical studies and to become immersed in the activities of an international academic research organisation. The fellow will work under the close supervision of experienced biostatisticians and will collaborate and interact with a multidisciplinary team within the organisation, as well as with key opinion leaders in the field. The fellowship is a full-time position based at the EORTC Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Main responsibilities / Major Activities

  • Writing statistical analysis plans, pooling data, and conducting statistical analyses based on data from EORTC cancer clinical studies.
  • Contributing to abstracts and manuscripts for scientific journals.

Profile

  • A master’s degree or PhD in statistics, mathematics, or a related field, with a strong knowledge of statistics or mathematics.
  • Experience with SAS or a strong affinity for programming, demonstrated by knowledge of other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with survival data analysis is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, under the supervision of a senior statistician.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • An interest in medical research.
  • Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
