This Clinical Trials Day, EORTC announces the upcoming Summit for Clinical Cancer Research

On Clinical Trials Day, 20 May, EORTC celebrates the researchers, clinicians, patients, and partners who advance cancer research every day. To mark the occasion, EORTC is pleased to announce the upcoming EORTC Summit, taking place on 23–24 March 2027 in Brussels, a new flagship event aiming to break boundaries in clinical cancer research.

New: Europe’s leading Summit for Clinical Cancer Research

The Summit will bring together experts to address the most transformative topics in the field, including Artificial Intelligence, innovative trial methodologies, patient-centric approaches, quality of life research, and emerging global policy and regulatory trends. It is designed as a unique, high-level space where the “how” of evidence generation takes centre stage.

A collaborative hub for all stakeholders

Researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, industry leaders, Contract Research Organisation (CRO) experts, funders, and regulators will come together in a multistakeholder environment that fosters collaboration across disciplines and sectors. The Summit fills an important gap in the landscape by serving as a single, pragmatic meeting point for everyone committed to improving clinical cancer research.

Empowering the next generation of researchers

The event will also spotlight Early-Career Investigators (ECIs), celebrate collective achievements, and provide a dynamic, networking-rich environment where new voices can shape the future of the field. The Summit will mark the beginning of the EORTC 2027 ECI Programme, with the involvement of 40 selected ECI members.

Watch the special video message from the Summit co-Chairs—Prof. Benjamin Besse, EORTC President-Elect and Dr Elena Garralda—featuring Dr Jens Lehmann, ECI Chair, to understand why this Summit is fundamental to the scientific community and what to expect in 2027.
