“Changing practice, improving lives”: EORTC publishes its Annual Report 2025

The EORTC Annual Report 2025 is now available, bringing together a year of scientific progress, collaboration, and continued commitment to independent clinical cancer research.

The report reflects the breadth of EORTC’s activities in 2025, from international clinical studies and research infrastructures to methodological innovation, education, patient involvement, and policy engagement. It also highlights the collective work of EORTC’s Groups, investigators, partners, patients, and Headquarters teams in contributing to better evidence for cancer care.

A year of active clinical research

In 2025, EORTC continued to support a broad portfolio of independent academic clinical research, with 33 recruiting studies and 10 new activations (click here to see our portfolio of activities). Across tumour types and disciplines, this work contributed to treatment optimisation, quality of life research, and clinical questions that are not always addressed by commercially driven research.

Collaboration at the core

The Annual Report 2025 reflects the strength of EORTC’s international network, which now includes 4,200 members across 1,132 institutions in 74 countries. This collaborative model remains central to EORTC’s mission, supporting multidisciplinary research and the ability to address complex questions in cancer clinical research at scale.

In 2025, this was visible not only in trial activity, but also in the continued development of platforms such as SPECTA, SISAQOL, RECIST, and E² RADIatE, as well as in partnerships with patients, regulators, policymakers, and research organisations across Europe and beyond.

Looking ahead

Beyond documenting a year of activity, the Annual Report 2025 offers a broader view of how EORTC’s work continues to contribute to clinical cancer research, through evidence generation, stronger research standards, and support for future investigators.
