1st Cancer Mission Forum for Rare Cancers
March 11
Lugano, CH
The EU Cancer Mission, alongside EORTC and leading European organisations, is launching the first Cancer Mission Forum for Rare Cancers on 11 March 2026 in Lugano.
EU Cancer Mission
In 2025, the EU Cancer Mission initiated the “Cancer Mission Forum for Rare Cancers”, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders in the field of rare cancer research and care. The Forum aims to create a dedicated research- and innovation-centred multi-stakeholder platform to facilitate structured dialogue, collaboration, and alignment in addressing the unmet needs of rare cancer patients and their caregivers across Europe.
Over the course of 2025, a series of stakeholder-led meetings – both virtual and in-person – will provide a space for knowledge exchanges and consensus-building, aiming at identifying, sharing, and refining existing research and care solutions relevant to patients afflicted by rare cancers. These exchanges will help define strategic priorities for future coordinated multi-stakeholder activities at EU and national levels.
The outcomes of these exchanges will be presented at the annual Cancer Mission Forum for Rare Cancers as of 2026. The development of a collaborative platform is currently underway to facilitate structured dialogue among interested stakeholders and define the scope of the Rare Cancers Forum.
